BHC Juniors WIN medals at Futures Cup

The Futures Cup which took place between 23rd – 26th August 2017 featured two very talented BHC juniors Martha Taylor and Nick Nurse, who were both representing the Wessex Leopards in their Under 15 categories. Both squads started off strongly with a 3-0 win for the boys against Mercia Lynx, and an emphatic 12-0 win for the girls against the Celtic Jaguars, with Martha on the score sheet! On day 2 the girls lost a 1-0 lead to lose 3-1 to eventual winners Pennine Pumas, whereas the boys continued their winning streak to win 8-0 against Caledonian Cougars. On finals...

Start of Season Club Day – 2nd September 2017

We are holding our annual club day on 2nd September from 9.30am. This is an opportunity for current, past and new players to experience Bournemouth Hockey club. All registrations for new players will take place from 9.30am in the club house and games will take place from 10am. BHC Juniors Selected for Wessex Leopards

Bournemouth Hockey Club’s very own Nick Nurse and Martha Taylor have been selected to represent the Wessex Leopards in the Futures Cup tournament which is taking place between 23rd and 26th August. Nick and Martha will play in the Boys and Girls U15 categories. The Futures Cup is a four day event which sees six squads battle it out to be crowned winners. It is often the pinnacle to the Player Pathway and for many players it will be their first experience of an intense tournament style competition of this scale. Ladies 3rd XI shortlisted at England Hockey Awards

On Saturday May 20th 2017 BHC’s Ladies 3rd XI attended the England Hockey Awards as finalists for Women’s Team of the Year. The evening was an (almost perfect*) culmination of what was a fantastic season for the team. Having achieved two promotions in succession, from Channel Division 1 in 2015/16 and East Division in the current year, being shortlisted for the award was such an honour. *It was almost perfect as the team didn’t actually win, but it was certainly a memorable night!
